PROJECT YETI - June 2016 Westmount Scouters take Rovers to Nepal

In a cultural, supportive, and learning trip Westmount Scouters (Virginia Elliott and Douglas Leahey) took 8 Rovers (aged 18-26) to the Solukhumbu Region of Nepal which was particularly affected by the deadly earthquake of 2015.  While in the Everest region we planted 4000 trees, painted and maintained community and cultural structures, set up a computer room at a local high school, and provided supplies to the local hospital.

The Scout Method

Scouts Canada engages youth, involving them throughout their formative years in a non-formal educational process, using a specific Method that makes each individual the principal agent of his or her development as a self-reliant, supportive, responsible and committed person. The Scout Method is an approach unique to Scouting throughout the world (World Association of the Scouting Movement’s Scouting: An Educational System)
