Winter Camp at Tamaracouta - 28-30 Jan 2011
Submitted by admin on Tue, 08/24/2010 - 19:14.All sections of Westmount Park and 2ND Westmount will be spending a weekend at the Tamaracouta Scout Reserve near Mille-Îles, leaving from Victoria Hall (4626 Sherbrooke St W, corner of Lansdowne) at 6 pm on Friday January 28. A program of tubing, x-country skiing, quinzies and more has been put together by the leaders for a fun-filled week-end in the snow. The groups will return on Sunday, January 30 around 3:30 pm at Victoria Hall.
Overnight Campout in Westmount Park - Fri 27 Aug
Submitted by admin on Sun, 08/01/2010 - 09:32.All sections of Scouts Westmount are invited to an overnight campout in Westmount Park. Join us as we celebrate the start of our new scouting season.
Parents are expected to participate with their youth. We will be sleeping in tents in Westmount Park on Friday, August 27th. Families with tents are asked to supply their own. There will be a campfire with songs and skits, and in the morning, we will be preparing breakfast.
Please contact your leader to reserve a spot and to volunteer your help. Let your leader know whether you can provide a tent.

Scouts Westmount registration - Thurs 26 Aug, 6 to 8pm
Submitted by admin on Thu, 07/15/2010 - 14:23.Scouts Westmount will be holding its registration evening in Westmount Park Church Hall at the corner of Lansdowne and de Maisonneuve (parking lot entrance). Please come prepared with your youth's health information (medicare card number and expiry, date of last tetanus shot, physician contact info).
Westmount Fall Camp - Oct 1 to 3, 2010
Submitted by admin on Mon, 03/29/2010 - 10:56.Scouts Westmount members (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers), their friends and families are invited to spend a week-end at Camp Kinkora near St-Adolphe de Howard for the annual fall camp.
Everyone is welcome to come out and see what Scouting is about and enjoy a week-end of discovery and the great outdoors. Cost: $tbd includes transportation, food, sports equipment, and accomodation in cabins. Parent volunteers welcome. At a later date, handouts will be available from leaders and will be included as attachments below.
World Scout Jamboree in Sweden

Small tents, cooking fires, uniforms, music, nature, food, dancing, cafés, wood, adventures, singing, environment, orienteering, meetings, Scout scarves, letters from home, meditation, rock bands, patrols, ice cream, email, celebration, bicycles, pioneering, singing, cleaning, calm, water, sunshine, reunions, sleeping, laughter, solidarity...

Aimed at 14 to 17 year olds, participants attend the event in Contingents – one from each country where there are Scouts recognised by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM). At the 21st World Scout Jamboree held in the United Kingdom in July 2007, there were youth representatives from 156 countries.
To be a participant at the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden 2011, you need to have turned 14 but not yet had your 18th birthday at the start of the camp. That means you must have been born between 25 July 1993 and 27 July 1997.
Members of Scouts Westmount who are 18 or older can participate as part of the International Service Team (IST).
