Members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada will have telescopes set up at the Summit Lookout on Saturday, September 13 from 7:30 pm to 10 pm. The lookout is located on Summit Circle in Upper Westmount. The astronomers will have star charts, information and lots of things to discover about celestial bodies. WESTMOUNT Scouting groups (Westmount Park, 2ND Westmount & St Andrews (beavers, cubs, scouts, Venturers and Rovers) will be holding an INFORMATION EVENING for families NEW to scouting at Westmount Park United Church (corner Lansdowne & De Maisonneuve - parking lot entrance).
Volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions about the different groups, sections, schedules etc. Please note registration will NOT be possible. Registration must be done on line at www.myscouts.ca
All families (both NEW and RETURNING) must now register (and pay) ONLINE at WWW.MYSCOUTS.CA . There is a maximum number of youth for each section. Families are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment. Online registration is currently open.
The registration price is $205 for the year (Sept 2014 until Aug 2015). Weekly meetings run from Sept through to early June. Week-end activities are held through out the session and paid according to participation.
New and returning members of Westmount scouting, along with their families, are invited to a BBQ in Westmount Park (Sherbrooke St across from the playground) on Friday, August 22 from 6 - 8 pm. Wear your uniform/neckerchief or Scout t-shirt and get a free hotdog. Following the BBQ the city of Westmount will present a movie in the park.
Les nouveaux et anciens membres de scoutisme de Westmount, ainsi que leur familles sont invités à un BBQ au Parc Westmount (la rue Sherbrooke en face du terrain de jeux) le vendredi 22 août de 18 h à 20 h. Portez votre uniform, foulard ou t-shirt de scout et recevez un hotdog gratuit. À 20 h la ville de Westmount présente un film au parc.
World Scout Scarf Day

In 2007 on the occasion of the 100 anniversary of the Scout Movement, the Austrian Scout Association declared August 1 a "National Scout Scarf Day" and asked all active and former scouts to wear their scout scarfs in public. Many people including prominent business persons followed the call and thus made the spirit of scouting visible.
So, get out your Scarf and Woggle and wear it!

Bring your family, your pet, your neighbours to Parc René-Lévesque, 398 Chemin du Canal in Lachine on Sunday, September 21 from 1 – 4 pm to clean the banks of the Lachine Canal. Tools, gloves, recording materials, refreshments supplied.
Participez à cet effort national pour maintenir nos cours d'eau canadiens en santé. Venez avec vos amis, votre famille, vos voisins, votre chien au Parc René-Lévesque, 398 Chemin du Canal à Lachine le dimanche 21 septembre de 13 h à 16 h pour nettoyer les berges du Canal de Lachine.
